We were excited to see GWMWater’s first Fully Off-Grid Facility and Lower Murray Water’sSunraysia Water Efficiency Project recognised as finalists in this year’s Regional Infrastructure Project Innovation Award at last week’s 2024 Australian Water Association (AWA) Victoria Water Awards in Melbourne. While incredible teams have brought these projects to life, one of Simon’s last projects with GWMWater was to help develop their Energy Management Strategy. That original vision focused on cutting energy costs, building resilience, and achieving sustainable energy solutions. No doubt it has evolved significantly, but it’s rewarding to see the lasting impact of those early efforts.
Lower Murray Water was also one of Grantus’ first engagements over five years ago. Simon spent two years working across the rural supply system and its customers to develop the concept and business case for the Sunraysia Water Efficiency Project, securing $38 million in funding to turn that vision into a reality.
It’s not often that we pause to reflect on our work or its legacy. Last week was a welcome reminder of the value of thoughtful, long-term planning; when we realised, we couldn’t pick a favourite project to win (congratulations GWMWater), it dawned on us just how meaningful both journeys have been.
This serves as a reminder that while our impact may not always be immediate, at Grantus, we aim to create strategies that stand the test of time. We aim to influence projects that meet today’s needs while building resilience for the future. Seeing these projects succeed is a reflection of the quality and foresight we strive to bring to every partnership, reinforcing our belief that well-executed strategic thinking delivers lasting value for communities and stakeholders alike.
